Write Alley Coach Auditions for Style Network Make Over

18 Aug

Yes, it’s true: tomorrow I will drive to Los Angeles to “audition” for “How Do I Look?” –a show on the Style Network hosted by Jeannie Mai.

I was nominated by Tea Silvestre of Women’s Economic Ventures for a make-over and reveal on the main stage at this year’s Women’s Conference hosted by Maria Shriver. The Women’s Conference looks absolutely amazing–I’ve checked it out before and this year is equally exciting:

October 24-26:     The Women’s Conference 2010 The Nation’s Premier Forum for Women

I’m not quite sure how it all came to be, but I think it’s because the Women’s Conference supports WEV  with scholarship grants, one of which I received to attend the course this past spring. As I understand it, I will have the opportunity of a make-over and to be introduced and tell my story about coaching on stage with Maria Shriver and more amazing people.

It will be a bittersweet drive–my mom passed away unexpectedly less than three weeks ago, and I wish I could call her and tell her and invite her to go with me for a day of adventures in Los Angeles. And I can’t email my dear friend and supporter the poet Paul Squires–he died even more unexpectedly the day before.
